From Jen Weitz from (unknown)
This guy I had a crush on for sometime finally asked me out … Finally! He wanted to take me to a fine restaurant for a romantic dinner. That evening, I put on my little black dress. Then, my date called to tell me the restaurant was booked. I was disappointed. But no big deal. So, it was off with the black dress and high heels, and on with the jeans.
My date arrived at my house, and we had some casual conversation and discussed other dining options. But we lost track of time – and it was getting late. We decided the local pizzeria was the only place in town that would still be open. I am thinking – how am I going to explain to my lady friends that I had gone from wearing a black dress and high heels, headed to an upscale restaurant, to now wearing jeans and planning to eat pizza? We arrived at the pizzeria. But… it was closed! Our last option was Denny’s, but for some odd reason they decided to shut down for the night. The next day at lunch with my lady friends, they sat in anticipation of my story about my romantic evening and candlelit meal. “It was memorable,” I told them. “My lovely romantic date and I had tuna with macaroni and cheese – at a convenience store, but it was good”.
