Interrupted by His Ex

LOCATION: New York

A friend set me up on a blind date. The guy came to my house to pick me up and go get some ice cream. I was happy to find out that he was cute, funny, and smart. Everything was going really well so we decided to go back to his house to watch a movie. Halfway through the movie, the doorbell rings. He gets up and this crying girl comes in, saying things like "I'm sorry" and "I love you," so pretty soon he starts crying too and they're both hugging and kissing. All I wanted to do was just slip away but they were still standing right by the door. I eventually managed to sneak past them and call a friend for a ride home. I haven’t talked to him since, but I really do hope he and his ex are still together. It would have been touching if it weren’t for the incredible awkwardness.
