He Was Hitting on My Mom!

LOCATION: Laurel, Nebraska

So I had been dating this guy, Nick, for about 5 months and my parents, especially mom absolutely loved him from the start. He was a really nice guy and all, but our distance and conflicting schedules were getting the best of us. Well one rainy day, my mom set up a date with my boyfriend and I without my knowing. We hadn’t seen each other for a couple weeks and she thought that needed to change. Mom called Nick and as I was outside doing the chores in the rain and mud when I noticed Nick's car driving down my street. Already pissed with the bad luck I was having outside, the rage increased as the boyfriend I was planning on breaking up with, surprised me by means of my own mother. Since he surprised me at the spur of the moment, I made him wait for me as I got cleaned up and then I made plans to go out with my friends to a movie. Nick and I drove separate. During the movie he kept trying to cuddle with me and kiss me in front of my friends. I was getting irritated by all of his not-so-smooth tactics. I had been giving him every subtle hint up to this point that my feelings had changed, but he still didn't catch on. Finally after the movie, we were heading back to my house, a 35 minute drive, when Nick said, "I haven't seen you in so long Brittney”. I don't think you even like me anymore!" No response. He then asked, "You do like me don't you?" I told Nick then that we needed to have a talk. (During this time, mom was also texting me telling me to give Nick another chance etc.). We argued the whole way home. He begged a lot for another chance. Once we got to my house he asked if he could at least have one last kiss goodnight to which I kept saying no to his constant begging. Completely frustrated at this point, I got out of his car still telling him no and that it was over to his disbelief. Mom, who was sitting inside, heard the arguing and came out to see what all the racket was before inviting Nick in. I threw my arms up and went inside to change clothes. When I came back down I saw mom and Nick sitting side-by-side watching Seabiscut with each other! Definitely NOT a way I'd pick to get back at an ex. We're friends again now, but this story remains a classic!
